Mumbai: 2 held for duping bank customers at ATMs; 117 expired cards recovered
Two men were arrested for duping bank customers at ATMs by swapping their debit cards with expired ones and later withdrawing money from their bank accounts. The duo, Pradyum Yadav and Vivek Pandey, have 16 prior cheating cases against them. Police have recovered 117 ATM cards from them. They targeted senior citizens or teenagers, swapping their debit cards with expired or stolen ones, and watching them enter their PIN. After the victims left the ATM, the accused used their cards to make withdrawals. The accused were caught after studying CCTV footage and are involved in at least 35 to 40 such instances.
