Mithi clean-up contractor debarred for forged docus

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has banned a contractor firm for three years after it submitted forged documents from a Netherlands-based company to win tenders for a desilting project. The firm, Maindeep Enterprise, had previously been blacklisted for five years for poor road work, but the BMC reduced the term to two years. The BMC has filed a complaint with the police, seeking an FIR for cheating and forgery. A local politician has called for permanent blacklisting and an investigation into the officials involved.
