Rail traffic hit as goods train derails near Panvel

A goods train derailment in the Panvel-Kalamboli section caused delays for long-distance trains, inconveniencing thousands of passengers. Four wagons and the brake van derailed, impacting trains passing through the corridor. An Accident Relief Train was sent to the site, and restoration work continued for over three hours. Affected trains included the Gorakhpur-Panvel Express, LTT-Mangluru Express, and Mumbai Central-Sawantwadi Express. The CSMT-Pune Pragati Express was diverted via a different route, and the departure of the CSMT-Madgaon Express was rescheduled. Regular passengers of the Roha-Diva MEMU were also affected.
