Builder in Mumbai gets 3 months in civil prison, told to pay Rs 4 crore
The Bombay High Court has found Pravin Satra, a developer from Darshan Developers, guilty of contempt of court for not delivering two flats to a buyer couple as promised. Satra has been sentenced to three months in a civil prison and ordered to pay Rs 4 crore to the buyer within six weeks. The court noted that Satra had repeatedly flouted his assurances and cannot be allowed to go free. The builder's lawyer has requested a stay, which was granted for six weeks only on the sentencing order, not the purging of contempt.
