Bad roads in Thane district claim 5th life, pillion bike rider crushed

A pillion rider was crushed to death under a heavy vehicle after the bike he was riding skidded on an uneven road stretch scattered with sand on the Mumbai Nashik highway on Sunday, informed officials. This is the fifth fatal mishap reported in July due to bad roads in Thane - the stronghold of chief minister Eknath Shinde.
