Petrol price touches Rs 96 per litre, diesel Rs 87

Diesel price was hiked for the ninth consecutive day here and is 2paise shy of Rs87, the highest ever here on Wednesday. Transporters said this will be instrumental in prices of vegetables and fruits and other essentials going up in few days.
